I have been writing and singing songs for over 20 years. They are not devotional or worship songs, as such. More often than not, I enjoy taking a particular text and working with that. I enjoy devotional and worship songs, but I think that our Story is worth, not only preaching about, but also singing about. In any event, that is my aim when I write.
